How do I fix the problem of copying movie(.vob,.mpeg) file from a DVD to a hard disk? The problem is that although the movies run well from the DVD, the moment i try copying them from the DVD to the hard disk the following message appears on the screen:-"ERROR: Cannot copy files: DATA ERROR:(CYCLIC REDUNDANCY CHECK)"! What should I do ? please help me out since i want to copy many dvds to hard disk!

Are you possibly trying to copy something that is protected by copyright law? If that's the case, forget it.

I have that problem on certain discs, have you tried others, and they all do the same? What program are you using, you might want to try DVD Shrink, even though sometimes it sucks. Cyclic Redundancy check is an error correction method that detects repeated errors on a disc my means of timing( or some crap like that), so I would assume that its just a faulty disc. However, if they're all doing that, I dont know. Sorry if this didnt help.

...oh yeah....Clone DVD, or AnyDVD are other programs you might want to try.

It is likely to be a case of incompatibility with the CD fed in for burning! Please seek and get expert help in situ!
