hey i need help with lime wire and i downloaded it[the basic free one] and wenever i clikk it it doesnt work it show the hourglass sign thing and it goes away in like 2 seconds and it never opens??? AND i have windows vista home basic,do u think that is whyy???
help please

When I turn on my computer and log in a few minutes later my toolbar changes into Windows Classic by itself.
The default is Windows XP. Mainly it changes the tool bar but the start menu still looks as if the Theme was Windows XP.
I also have no sound, I reinstalled it then after resetting my computer, it was gone again.
I also can't update my computers with Windows Update, even if I go to Microsoft's updating.
I click Express to update, it scans and looks for what I need to update but it just keeps scanning never doing anything.
I have scanned my computer with many things: Ad-ware SE, AVG 7.5, Symantec Antivirus Corp Ed. v10.
Yet still no luck.
Can someone help me?

my brother recently bought a computer from compaq and recieved a free upgrade disk for vista ultimate because of certain things he put on his computer when he built it. I was wondering if he installs it on his computer, could i use the same disk LEGALLY and install it on my own. OR If he doesnt put it on his, could i put it on mine.

i recorded a movie on my digital camera. i want to use the program windows movie maker. although, the movie i recorded saved as a quicktime file so, i can not use that on windows movie maker. if it helps, The file C:\Documents and Settings\Brian\My Documents\Kirsten and I.MOV is not a supported file type, and it cannot be imported into Windows Movie Maker... is the message that i get. any ideas on how to change this?

Ok its my work computer and I really dont want to have to call our help desk because its stupid! In my calendar, I selected to "add holidays" and added USA's. So um I've accidently added some holidays for like Brazil or something and cannot for the life of me figure out how to REMOVE them. OMG Help! I dont want nor need to know when Carnivale is lol. I recently reinstalled windows xp into my computer. Now whenever i enter the windows gui a error pops up and tells me that rundll32.exe is missing and that i need to go to a website to download a program to restore it. Now is this a spyware/virus problem? Because it didnt happen before i reinstalled windows. Also I cant activate xp either. A icon would notify me that xp will need to be activated in 30 days, so when i go try to activate it. Windows tells me that it has already been activated. So what do i do????

I just downloaded the Mepis version of Linux to a Cd. When I restart my computer it just turns back on the way it normally does, and doesnt load the Linuz application. How can I get this to work? (I have other versions of Linux on Cd's that load on start up just fine)...please help me out!

I just dowloaded Windows XP, ( upgrading from Windows 2000 ) and I can't seem to find Microsoft Word or any of the Office programs for that matter. Does it come with the office program or is it sold seperatley? ( Keep in mind I had the Office programs downloaded with Windows 2000 )

in 2003 i was able to not only type but print out more than one line and in 2007 i can type more than one line but when it goes to print it will not print more than the first line... other than going back to 2003 is there a way to make this work? Thanks for your time

I have a Umbutu 6.1 Desktop CD x86. I want to install Linux on my old Gateway computer. Where can I find EASY step by step instructions for installing Umbutu? I know a little about computers, but many of the Linux terms and instructions confuse me.
