When I turn on my computer and log in a few minutes later my toolbar changes into Windows Classic by itself.
The default is Windows XP. Mainly it changes the tool bar but the start menu still looks as if the Theme was Windows XP.
I also have no sound, I reinstalled it then after resetting my computer, it was gone again.
I also can't update my computers with Windows Update, even if I go to Microsoft's updating.
I click Express to update, it scans and looks for what I need to update but it just keeps scanning never doing anything.
I have scanned my computer with many things: Ad-ware SE, AVG 7.5, Symantec Antivirus Corp Ed. v10.
Yet still no luck.
Can someone help me?
Thanks

From your description you clearly have a hijacking problem.
You can go back and a SYSTEM RESORE
to an earlier date before these symptoms.

OR
you can run three very useful tools for this problem.
I suspect either a virus, or a Trojan, or a hijacking.
Here are FREE programs that will catch the culprit.

A.
Get AVAST
1. Remove what you have now. It didn't do right did it? Dump it
2. Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and delete the anti-virus program you have now,
if you have one;
then use your Search feature, type in the name of your current anti-virus program
if you have one > right click and delete any instance it finds.

3. Get FREE Home version of an excellent anti-virus software = AVAST
http://avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html....
Install > run > do a thorough scan
and allow it to run on your computer all the time.
Whatever it finds > select DELETE

The annual registration and frequent updates are free too.

B.
Get free Ad-AWARE
spy-removal tool from Lavasoft
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/products/ad-aware_se_personal.php
1. Download, install and run this program weekly or more.

C. .

Get free anti-hijacking tool
for any hijack problems you might encounter
1. The program is called HiJackThis 1.99
http://www.majorgeeks.com/download3155.html
2. Download and run the program
BE CAREFUL what you delete,
from it's findings...because
it will find the offending program
and others that you may NOT want to delete.
Only delete the one that hijacked you.

sounds like a virus to me too, how ever scanning in regular mode doesnt always show all virusis/malicious coding

before doing any of the below, make sure you upgrade all anti-virus, anti spyware if possible then restart your computer and

as your computer boots, i believe you press f8 continuously untill the promt to start in safe mode appears

at this prompt use your arrow keys to highligh safe mode then press enter

wait for it to load, after it loads run your Anti-virus software first with NO OTHER APPLICATION RUNNING (that means no other scanning or anything software running)

wait untill it finishes, if it detects nothing go onto the nextt progrm (Anti-spy->spy bot->ad aware ect) giving each its own chance to find something

how ever if a program DOES find something and removes/quarentines it, let it remove it then immidetiably restart the computer go back into safe mode and repeat the previous program

if this is too hidueous for you too doo or too time consumning, if there is nothing valuable on the computer (pictures files, reconrds) you might want to consider re-formatting your hard drive with a fresh copy of windows

youll need the Windows Xp disc, if you need help with that message me ill be more than happy to walk your through the steps

Good Luck!
