how can i get rid of them safely & totally when they wont uninstall?

First things first go into add and remove programs and remove the game in question. This gets rid of the registry entries for the game. Then go into the directory where you installed the game and manually delete the folder of the game in question this gets rid of the physical stuff on the drive that the game uninstaller has left behind.
Then reboot pc and everything will be fine.

Use Ccleaner to uninstall.Better than Windows uninstaller.

Start Menu - Control Panel - Add or Remove Programs - Choose what you want to remove.

You will need to search on their parent home website and download the Removal Software Tool. It is on there for sure.
