Here I think I'm an expert, and I can't fix this problem.

Every time I do File, Open, to look at my files, the "size" and "type" columns are always there, no matter how many times I uncheck them. They keep coming back. How do I get them to NOT come back??

Ok, I know how, but how do I do this. I have a 200gig drive. I partitioned it at 80 I think for Xp, and the second part was 100, cause they cheat. But, I want to take the 80 and make a 20gig and 60gig. I am redoing windows, but I dont want to delete the 100 gig part. Cause thats where I have alot of stuff. So how do I do this safely? Either before or during reinstall of windows.

Microsoft has discontinued support for Windows 98, and Windows Me, which leaves me unable to download any spyware now!!! {just great!!!!} So now I have to upgrade to XP. Is there any other way to get spyware protection? Is having ME now useless?

i was wondering if i could get a higher resolution by changing the size of the screen buffer, or in any other way? any suggestions?

this is not possible, there are no colors, no attachments Why does it say it is this large and How do I correct?
Is it the Adobe 6.0 Professional Is it incorrectly installed ? It also measures 432 MB Mega bytes for the program.

I want to run Linux from a CD that I have just burned; computer starts up but msg appears "Windows needs to know what program created it . . . etc". I understood that Linux would run independently of Windows and am reluctant to mix the two OS. Any words of wisdom appreciated.

computer courses?
I work for a great company that has various feilds for there employees. I myself am a Service technician for engineering printers. (always had mechanical aptatude) My company would like to morphe me into what we refer to as a Software/hardware tech. Currently I am a "hardware tech." I have basic computer skills like this for instance, and burning DVD's, files and music. I have also programed home theater componants on my PC. I basically learn as I go. So in other words I have no idea were to start. And what courses I should take. My company will pay a substanial portion of my course fees. But I just can't see myself going back for a associates degree for 2 years, when I have only high school diploma from 13 years ago. The course I am looking at is at ITT and is three days a week.
What is a good start for individual courses? I would be in involved in some networking, and would need a knowledge of Microsoft.

Hello, I'm not exactly sure what they are called. I think it is called the Master Pages? Anyway, are there anymore themes or looks to the slides that you can download somewhere? I guess they are called Master Pages. There are not very many of them in open-office like Microsoft Word has.

We use Quickbooks all day long at work and it's SO SLOW! We run Dell Precision PWS380 Intel (R) / Pentium (R) 4 CPU 3.00 GHz / 2.99 GHz 512 MB of RAM.

We have to use other programs while running Quickbooks as wel l, KwikCheck (a file tracking program), an online database system for our company, Lotus Notes and media player (we need music).

But Quickbooks is so freakin' slow, we have three users on it at a time. And if one persons performs a search the other two are left with white screens and are unable to even work. It's nuts.

Any suggestions?!

Hey guys,
I'm about to buy a Toshiba Satellite notebook from Circuit City. It comes with Vista Home Premium. I was wondering if it came with Office 2007? But most importantly, does it come with Word 2007? I tried to find out these facts by myself but the microsoft website focuses too much on other features of Vista Home Premium to properly explain what it actually contains.
