Vista has not had a very good welcome and is all avour security. I'm going to wait for the one after Vista. Anyone know what sort of things it will have on it that will be totally new but not to do with boring things?

i wonder how many people said that who had win2000pro just after xp was launched 6 years ago?

They would now be lumbered with vista.....

by all means wait(like i am) but only for a year until most main bugs are sorted out with service packs etc.

and i have heard there is going to be another release from microsoft soon, but no details as yet(don't want to commit myself to rumours)

Vista changed a lot in terms of Windows, and it's going to take awhile for all the bugs to get worked out. It's a great OS and it will become standard in some years time. The extra security features will prove useful in the future. The fact that DX10 only works in Vista means eventually anyone that plays games will have to have Vista. WPF is going to allow for some new innovative looking applications.

I'm sure MS isn't considering the next generation of Windows, or if they are they would never disclose the details so early.

How can we guess - it took 5 years from XP to Vista, so I hope you are patient!

It may contain the things that they planned for vista but removed when they proved too hard, but they are pretty dull, like the database to control file management.

I HATE Vista! Good idea on the waiting.
