i was wondering if i could get a higher resolution by changing the size of the screen buffer, or in any other way? any suggestions?
it is not important if it decreaases the performance of the machine.

thanks

no, those values correspond to what your video card can support. You can't make it smaller without getting another video card.

The resolution you can set is dictated by the ablilities of the monitor you have installed. You could trick the computer into thinking it is a different monitor thereby allowing for higher resolutions, but you monitor will most likely not work.

And yes, increasing the resolution will decrease the computers performance on video games.

Yes someyimes I use it.
Right click desktop\properties\settings\advanced\monitor\
then uncheck hide modes that my monitor...
apply and OK
try draging the little arrow in settings
Usually 1280x800 pixels drag it higher.
But this will cause you to have to scroll to see the whole monitor.

To do this you must have a higher VGA Card support.
