Security - February 2007

I get endless pop-ups that look VERY similar to MS warnings and direct me to one of several web sites (regproscan, msreg to name of of the 9).

It started with IE warnings and when I reported 8-9 my C drive crashed! I have reloaded my op system etc. on a backup drive because BIOS doesn't even see my C drive even with a manual load.

I figure that it's in autoexec.bat or config.sys as a hidden file.

DO NOT DNLD the software because it will give them access to ALL your passwords and perhaps TOTAL control of your computer or network. If you use on-line banking, say goodbye to your accounts.

I am going to try to find these guys and turn them into the AG! Any help with an IP or the like would be appreciated.

I can do Nortons Security Scan but when I do the Virus Scan first it says to install the ActiveX control and so I do then it says that I need a Internet explorer 5.5 or above (I just downloaded IE 7) and/or I need a newer ActiveX. So how do I fix this problem? I used to be able to do the Virus Scan?

I'm pretty positive I just got a virus or spyware. My net goes real slow, I keep getting popups, and somehow it changes my google searches. I see in m task manager a ew weird things runing, like chkntfs.exe, and v6.exe. What is a good FREE spyware removal? Last time I used what was supposed to be a good free one, it deleted a system file so I'm wary. And I can't search google because this thing won't let me. Help please!!

My anti virus software stopped a w32 trojan /Mzr . But what would it have done to my pc if it had infected it. can't find any details on the anti virus web sites.

basicly i acedently downloaded i think it said activex movie player updates or missing files or sumthin then it a program calles anti vermean or sumthin poped up and its all u got all these viruses and stuff so i unplugged my internet and deleted every thing that had 2 do with anti vermean(when i tryed 2 use the internet it took me 2 a page about downloading "virus protection" and i couldint leave) but my computer is still a bit slow and there is 1 thing left in my tray thing in the botom right coorner of the screen... its a white question mark in a blue circle that flashes into 1 of those caution signs and when i move the cuser over it it says "System Alert!" and every like 5 minutes it will pup up in this yellow bubble and say "system has detected numerus viruses ect ect... download up to date virus protection" i clicked on it with my internet unplugged and it poped up like 10 internet windows... so im not clickin it with my internet on... ne ways i have run virus searches with

You visit a site and a little graphic pops up telling you that your computer is infected. Are you going to click on it?

Your answer should be a resounding NO! Thesee are all scams. Each and every one of them! Clicking the pop-up WILL infect your computer with crap.

Never, ever, for any reason, click a pop-up! Not even in an attempt to close it! Just leave that site and go someplace else!

Well my comp can't connect to the internet, right now I am on my Wii online. The Wii and my bros comp are connected to my comp and work fine. My comp however doesn't. My firewall shows that I am sending out info but not receiving any. Also, ever since it stopped working I have received multiple alerts from Symantec antivirus of trojans that have been quarantined. So far it says 4 have been quarantined. Could this be the reason? This is urgent I need to be online tomorrow.

I cant get my task manager to open up. I tried ctrl+alt+delete, I also tried right clicking on the start menu. It just won't come up. I have installed alot of spyware and adware removal software. Windows Live OneCare, Web Root Spy Sweeper, Ad-Ware SE Personal, SpyBot, and also System Mechanic 5. And they all say that I'm clean. can someone help me.

I have a virus in my pc, it doesn't allow me to download any antivirus from the internet, every time I start the download the virus detect it and restarts my PC.

Even if I write the name of this theat on Yahoo this virus detect it and restarts my computer. I cannot even research about this.

I found out the name using a free virus scan on the internet, it is called Worm-Rontokbro

Please does any one knows how can I remove this, remember that I cannot download any antivirus from the internet.

I have a blog at blogspot.com and I need to know how do I back up it on my computer.

I have tried the program BlogCollector (the free edition) but it shows me no posts on the blog and says that it has limitations.

I only need a backup blog program or a good HTTP downloader...
