I just took a closer look at my bank statement and discovered that NAPSTER has been taking $9.95 out of my account every month since March... I don't subscribe to them and have never downloaded anything from them. Anyone else have problems with them..... I am SOOOOO PISSSED!

I am going to be selling my computer and I want to make sure nobody retrieves my personal info, there needs to be zero chance of this happening, bank account passwords etc.. ... I have heard that it is possible to get info from a hard drive or where ever else if anywhere else info is stored on a computer after it has been deleted or reformated etc.... So I need to know what I can do to make sure all data that was once on my computer is permenetly erased and can in no way be retrieved... Thank you for your input

Hello. I am the mother of a 12 year old girl who has gone behind my back and been signing on "Myspace" and her hotmail. My stepdaughter came to me this afternoon and told me about some conversations she saw on myspace between my daughter and some unknown guy who says he is from Florida. My daughter gave me her email address but she says she forgot the password. Is there any programs that I can download that will show me the passwords that have been entered on this computer within the last few days. I really need to get in and go through her stuff. For all I know this could be a pedafile and she knows better to do this but I fear she might have given our address away as she has before. I need to find her password to these two ASAP. Please help me fast!!!! I don't care if I have to pay money for the program, just please give me some ideas.

I heard a recent report that Firefox is less secure, but it only takes an average of 1 day for them to patch up security issues when they are discovered whereas MS IE is more secure, but takes an average of 9 days to patch up security issues when they are discovered. Also, IE has been said to infect your computer with viruses/worms simply by clicking on a link...is this true? Is the security situation out there as bad as it seems?? I have a computer that might not be as private as I thought so I would like to see if it has been turned on while I'm gone. Is there a log I view showing time and date my computer was turned on?

Also, what is the best way to lock down my computer? I am using Win XP and have 4 usb ports which I understand make the machine vulnerable.

I hope there is a way to totally stop access to the machine as the computer expert in the family will take it as a challenge to get in.

is which prevents me from using my internet explorer browser. I am also blocked trying when trying to use mozilla firefox. The only browser I can connect to the internet with is Netscape. Some one said that maybe my anti virus program , in this case, PC-Cillin is infected. That is just great, lol, the very anti-virus program I use to protect my computer is itself infected? geez..anyway....THE ONLY WAY I CAN connect to the internet is when I disable the FIREWALL on my on my Pc-cillin antivirus program...how is that for great technology? Any suggestions as to what could be wrong? and....if this "system mechanic professional 6" is worth anything?

how do i stop people asking for my bank account number so they can put 20 million u.s. dollars in it for safekeeping.80 percent of my emails are from these idiots.i did not give them my email address.spamguard stops them asking again,i want to stop them from trying in the first place.p.s.how do you get to post a question in the "others" section.

he downloaded what was suposto be a no cd patch what he got was a program that turns off the firewall and norton antivirus and starts mailing out stuff we disconected from the web started in safe mode ran virus scan removed virus removed explorer helpers ran spyware it seamed ok for an hour but its back now
i dont want to reformat what elce can i try

today i saw weird thing in my pc..when i open a folder, there are 3 new folders inside it..these folders named Data Compaq_owner, Data Mike, n another folder with the name of current folder..these 3 folders r in every folders..if i open these 3 folders, they lead to My Documents..i dun know what's happening..i don't know where they come from..is my pc got hacked????? if so, what should i do??? pls advice me
