properties and various windows stuff wont come up and there doesnt seem to be a way to fix it! believe it's a virus but no scans detect it. when i click on properties a small black window appears with system32/rundlll.exe or something to that effect at the top. Help!

30 minutes ago a virus was detected in my computer. it was W32.Rontokbro.k@em . 14 programes were affected. i used my Norton AntiVirus programe, it could delete 10 but 2 failed to delete.they remain. what should i do to protect my computer?

I am using windows XP. I got problems with automatic updates. Automatic updates are downloaded automatically. But they are not installed. They show the update icon in notification area. When I click them and ask it to install. After it show a message asking the path to "WINDOWS XP WITH FRONT PAGE"

But i can find windows xp with front page installed in my computer(C:\program files\microsoft front page). And every time my system shut downs it ask install updates and shut down. When i click it it takes lots of time but it is not shut downing.

It was the problem for a month. Now when i open .doc files it says it need "Windows XP with front page". What do front page has to do with MS word.

This annoying program has somehow managed to infiltrate my computer WITHOUT my approval and just won't stop popping out in my browser. At first, keeps urging me to download their anti-spyware/adware program which I always refuse to do and whenever I CANCEL or ignore it , it would bombard my screen with more offers from other advertisers! I've already adjusted my security settings to high but it still somehow keeps on coming back! I need help fast.

i was recently given a better pc than my old one the tower is an ex office one.it was emptied and i up'd the ram to 512 and put xp on it and have the free versions of avg and ad-aware on it.before getting ad-aware avg found 4 trojans but didnt heal them so they are in quarrantine.how do i shift them?also sometimes my broadband randomly goes off and the only way to get it back is to unplug it and start the system back up.could this be to do with the viruses?

every time i load up Norton tells me that kazaa is trying to install i have got rid of everything i can find but it still won't go! I'm housesitting and i don't want it to be there when they get back! HELP!! I know its not put any viruses on there but its just a pain to have to remove it using Norton each time! Any help please!

My office pc is in LAN. Although I regularly delete all the cookies and temporary internet files every time I use internet, still my boss gets to know which sites I had visited. I want to know how this happens and how to prevent my boss knowing all this.

I recently installed Google Earth. At the end of the install it 'Automatically' installed Google as my default search engine. I saw the 'Do you want to make Google your default search engine' question but it 'autmoatically skipped' giving me option.
