I am using windows XP. I got problems with automatic updates. Automatic updates are downloaded automatically. But they are not installed. They show the update icon in notification area. When I click them and ask it to install. After it show a message asking the path to "WINDOWS XP WITH FRONT PAGE"

But i can find windows xp with front page installed in my computer(C:\program files\microsoft front page). And every time my system shut downs it ask install updates and shut down. When i click it it takes lots of time but it is not shut downing.

It was the problem for a month. Now when i open .doc files it says it need "Windows XP with front page". What do front page has to do with MS word.

Win XP is legal

I previously used AOL active security monitor. It information about antivirus, firewall, etc(it provides marks for them.)

In that it showed windows is missing critical updates. So i manually go to windows update site and update it.

I was using ZA pro at that time. I thought it does not allow update. But now ZA pro firewall stop working and win update is also not working. Word and other Ms office tools are also not working.

I am using
AVG free
Spyboot search and destroy
AD AWARE
Ccleaner
Zone alarm pro
Tune up utilities 2006

for a long time with no problem.

FrontPage is part of Office so you might have a problem with Office. If you turned on Microsoft update (not just Windows Update) on the Update website, that updates Office as well as Windows.

First put your Office disk in and try to update. If that doesn't work repair install Office. If that doesn't work, uninstall Office- reboot- reinstall- reboot- run updates. If that doesn't work, write down the error and there is a free email support form to Microsoft. They might be able to help you.

You need the Microsoft OFFICE XP with Front Page CD. It's basically to make sure you are using a legal version of Office. If you do have a legal copy and don't have the disk, contact Microsoft. If not, I suggest switching to OpenOffice...it's the same thing, only free!

You might not be using a certified copy of something that gets updated through Windows Update. It will continually ask to download updates, but when you download, the process verifies that your copy isn't legal, so it doesn't download the update. Windows keeps asking you to, though.

absolutely nothing. Sounds like something is corrupting your installation of Windows. Next time that question pops up, insert the installation CD of Windows, see if that makes a difference.
In the mean time, install a good virusscanner (AVG is free, and good. Available from http://free.grisoft.com) and scan your computer for adware/malware (download Ad-Aware from http://www.lavasoft.com, it's free and pretty good).

Install Service Pack for Office if you have Office installed.

You can get that on MS's website also.
