I've been married for 4 years and she knows my passwords and I know all her passwords. I walked into the computer room yesterday and she x-off her e-mail when I walked in. I asked what she was doing and she said nothing. I tried to log in her yahoo today and the password was changed. This is not like her. I am a little worried why shy would change it. How do I find out her new password? Any suggestions much appriciated.

I think I have a virus on my computer. Everytime i open the net it goes automatically to a security center where it tells me about spyheal and pest trap. It wont let me go directly to Yahoo or anywhere else. I need my computer for my job and this takes a lot of time. I have tried resetting my home page back to Yahoo and it says that it is, but this screen still pops up everytime I open the net. Please tell me if there is a free and easy way to get rid of this.
(or even just free and understandable is good.) Thanks

Ok my family's computer has a biig problem. Here's how it all started.

My little sister downloaded something on cartoonnetwork.com.That gave us a virus. Then a popup popped up and she clicked into it.Gave us even more viruses.I ran eTrust Pest Patrol and that got rid of all the viruses, all but 1.Then I ran AdAware, the 1 remaining virus couldn't be deleted. Now, popups pop up,even when i don't go on the internet. If you leave the computer just sitting there, without doing ANYTHING,popups pop up.Can anybody help please?

No spyware or Anti Virsus finds it. It can't be moved from the screen. Used to be Cntrl-Alt-Del was the only way to get rid of it. It's called AOLJPGPICTURE.EXE in the Task Manger. Now the task manganer seems to have been disabled. I've tried re-copying taskmanger to the PC from another PC I have and right infront of your eyes it changes from 126 bytes to 1 byte. HELP!!!

Do you have to pay to renew on each separate computer? or can you renew on one computer and transfer to the others?

Ok, I'm joking about the title, but I'm thinking that "anti-virus" programs should be called "anti-bacterial" programs because real viruses can't be "killed", but the "viruses" on our computers can be removed (thus "killed").

I vote to call anti-virus programs ANTI-BACTERIAL programs from now on! Plus I think malicious hackers would be insulted at having their programs called bacteria instead of virus. Kind of takes the "hardcore" sounding name of "virus", and replaces it with something more associated with "pus"!

WHO'S WITH ME?

BTW, yes I know I'm a dork......

It seems to get around every program I use- i think its even attacking the antivirus software. It won't let Microsoft Update install what it needs to get rid of it. I can' t delete it, move it, or anything - it's detected as read-only.

What was really annoying was that Zone Alarm was allowing hundreds of programs to hijack my computer, with that message next to it "Look how ZoneAlarm is protecting your computer!" Yeh. Right. It's also hijacked my top menu bar on explorer, so I can't see my address. Basically the controls are faded out.

I found the registry entries, but no antivirus will touch them! They are:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\\Start Page
iemain:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\\Default_Page_URL
ieabout:
HKLM\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs\\SecurityRisk
and a few others.

Those are the exact infected registry entries. Is it okay to delete them manually using RGEDIT? Or is it a gamble?

Cheers

How can I get rid of a virus that someone sent to me?

2006-08-20 21:58:24 · 11 answers · asked by Anonymous

Well Im 13 and unforgiving by nature and I am facinated with programing computers to do things. I simply can't tolerate those
unworthy creatures that ruin our world. So I thought that programing the Internet to shut down the computer system of anyone wrting abusive things on the Internet. Sure people can
find loop holes but it would get rid of most abusers.
A level one shut down for people using language which will
shut down the system for ever. Level 2 shut down the computer system and send a over ride shock wave to cause smoke and
shock the user which is for people who use racial comments
and level 3 which will destroy the computer and shock the user so they will have disabilities which is for people who write threats.
Sure its for the government to decide but is it a good idea?
Violaters beware the computer nerd is hear!! LOL.
