Im the computer administrator on my computer and i recently went on vacation and it seems that i have forgotten my password, what do i do?
im being forced to use the public library computers!

Webroot Spy Sweeper Internet Essentials Suite....is that a good product? i juss bought a new computer for the 2 time..my last ocmptuer broke down with viruses and everything. it got fixed manytime but it always catches viruses. and now im thinkin that i need somthin to protect my new computer. i did a lot of research and i can to "Webroot Spy Sweeper Internet Essentials Suite" thats the only on that i havn't tried yet....any ideas?

i work in the office...and yes computers are very important to me when it comes to my job haha

I have my computer tell me when I am entering an encrypted security page. Lately, after it tells me that, it tells me there is an error establishing the encrypted connection....when I hit the small x to get rid of the box and delete any info on my order, the order goes through. I'm scared that someone will see my credit card info. Can a hacker change this information on my computer? I tried to sell my vehicle and this person that sent me a "bad" cashiers check, I'm sure...tried to send me a virus--which was caught and I've noticed when I x out of Mozilla Firefox, some of the security boxes have been changed and I can't fix that. For example: it should remove personal info upon shutting down. Now out of the 6 security features 2 of them is not checked where they were before. Can you help me fix that too?

Does such a thing even exist? I have Norton Internet Security 2005 and hate it! Sure, it's great at catching things and has lots of options, but it takes up almost all of my system resources! Granted, my processor isn't the newest version, but I've got 512 MB of RAM, and my cpu usage is constantly at 100%!!!

I love to play with XP... I have to be able to tweak my programs... I do love that about Norton. I'm always installing and trying new things (it's my make & break machine) so I always have things backed up. Repairing things is the best way to learn! I'm not a novice, but not an expert either, and know about msconfig and all of the basic stuff for system performance, so that isn't part of the problem!

My computer always works great after I dump the system and star over... UNTIL I install Norton, and it has 5 or 6 things constantly running and really bogs it down!

Thanks in advance for suggestions! Any more advanced tips on system management are welcome too!

I am selling my old computer since I just got a new one. How can I be sure that all of my past documents I have saved and past website histories I looked at cannot be brought back to life after I have allready deleted them?
I have been told people can still acess them from the computer even if you have deleted them.

I recieve about 25 messages a day saying "message could not be sent, User unknown" etc... I have contacted my provider, only to not get a reply. I have run AVG, Avast!, Zone Alarm, Panda, Stop Sign, and Mcafee antivirus and they say I am clean. I have turned my computer off for a week and still recieve messages that I suposingly sent (while the computer is off??)

My next actions are:

Change my email address and re-install Windows XP...

Anyone have any suggestions?

program entered my comp sayin it is infected, and I need to do this scan. it is just a scam to make you buy their program but i cant delete it or find it. i have norton. my friend last time got rid off it by back date my comp to a day where that program was not in my comp. i do not know how to do that and my friend is away. seems like every other question is about a computer being infected by a trojan, viruses, or spyware. Aren't you getting tired of answering people that have no clue on securing their computer and yet, download illegal, and sometimes infected programs, files from the internet? I think people should do their research into securing their comps and know that limewire, ares could contain virues that disable their computers. any thoughts? Thanks.

Ive downloaded AVG antivirus trial but its only FREE for 30 days. At one stage about a year ago I found a site and downloaded it totally for free and unrestricted. Is it still available totally for free???IF SO WHERE????? Thanks First person to post correct info gets my BEST VOTE

The computer screen recently turned from blue to black with a large message telling me I have a spyware/adware infection. Now the internet browser rarely opens correctly for me (it keeps saying cannot find server) and not even my microsoft word works properly. Having the comp set to its last known good configuration doesn't work, and since I can't get onto sites really, it seems unlikely to download anything to help. We do have a spyware program already installed, but it seems to freeze at a certain point. Please! Help me!

there is an entity, not recognised by any of my anti-spy/virus progs. which gives me a message that i have been signed off as I have signed on elsewhere--since i have but one computer, that is impossible---this prevents me from accessing messenger--mail and from putting my cam on etc. --also has prevented me from contacting SZ- MS and macaffee--any advice??

This message has been popping up for about an hour now:

your computer is in danger... windows security center has detected spyware/adware infection. Click here to install latest protection tools.

But when I click on the message, nothing happens. THere is a red circle with white X on my tool bar. I have gone to Microsoft support, but won't get an answer right away. Any ideas?

I only have windows firewall right now. I have tried to download and use both Zonealarm and Sygate firewalls, they download and install fine but afterward when I restart my laptop(Compaq V5005us Win XP SP2) I get a blue screen that says-page fault in non paged area- and under it it says if I have installed any new saftware to uninstall it. I uninstall and it is fine. I am running Avast antivirus and Spybot search and destroy also. But really need firewall.
