popup blocker is on but i have unwanted popups coming up while i am browsing internet

They might come from adware on your computer rather than the pages you're visiting. Try the spyware removal tools listed below: (Lavasoft ad-aware, Spybot S&D)
Also you might want to try another browser than Internet Explorer. Try Firefox or Opera. They have better popup blockers, and are generally safer. Especially Opera is my personal favourite.

I assume you are using Internet Explorer(IE). If you are using IE popup blocker, which came with Windows XP with SP2, then there are other alternatives. Both Google and Yahoo! toolbars for IE have built-in popup blocking features. At techsupportalert.com, they have an excellent article on the best free software programs to use, including free popup blockers (http://www.techsupportalert.com/best_46_free_utilities.htm#18).
Once on their website, scroll down until you see the best popup blocking category. Long story short, Google toolbar is best for novices.
For a longer listed of recommended popup blockers, go to http://www.popuptest.com/. It is an interesting site to test the effectiveness of your popup blocker. I like it because it gives you a quantitative way to compare different popup blockers. Also, don't forget to visit their webpage on all free popup blockers which have been reviewed. go to ur blocker's rules.maby u choos some sites to be free.or update ur blocker and search ur PC with a powerful spyware-removal tool

get the google toolbar it blocks everything
