I think I have a virus on my computer. Everytime i open the net it goes automatically to a security center where it tells me about spyheal and pest trap. It wont let me go directly to Yahoo or anywhere else. I need my computer for my job and this takes a lot of time. I have tried resetting my home page back to Yahoo and it says that it is, but this screen still pops up everytime I open the net. Please tell me if there is a free and easy way to get rid of this.
(or even just free and understandable is good.) Thanks

I highly recommend you download SUPERantispyware. It will fix that problem. It is VERY VERY effective and it is free.

run a virus scan and find out the location of the virus...write down the virus location and then turn your computer off and then on...restarting won't work...then after your computer comes back on go to the location of the virus and delete it while it is still asleep!! and that should fix it...if you download adaware it might work too

or
click on your start menu then click on control panel and then click on performance and maintenance and then on the left there should be a thing that says system restore...click on that and then follow directions be sure when it prompts you for a date pick one that you know of when you didn't have a virus choose a month ago you won't lose your files...just everything gets reset to how it was before you got the virus only if you choose a day before you got the virus oh and this only works if your on windows...no mac

PLEASE EVERYONE JUST STOP THINKING RUNNING A VIRUS SCAN WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEMS!! There are viruses nowadays that Ani Virus software does not even detect.... Virus scans are effective sometimes but with modern viruses there is nothing better than formatting and re installing the OS!! Unless of course you have enough notions of computer related problems and get deep into your system with a couple programs to get rid of the virus manually!!! Symantec offers on it's web site virus definitions and ways to remove them manually, you may try that... if you don't feel confident enough then I recommend format and install!!!!! Believe me, no Anti Virus is 100% reliable!!!

What type of security do you have?? Macafee? or Norton? Click on your security and scan the computer for and remove the virus.......it should automatically quarantine it! I hope you have internet security! If you don't you need to get it and by the way NORTON IS THE BEST! It alerts you whenever something is trying to breach your firewalls or computer settings.......and gives you the option of accepting it or not allowing it to come thru. i had Macafee and continued to get constant viruses and had to pay to get my computer cleaned numerous times. Good Luck!

1. Disconnect from the internet.
2. Turn the PC on and see if you can RESET your PC to a date where the virus did not attach itself (sorry, don't know what type of PC you have)

hi, perhaps you can try Norton to remove the virus. but you need to pay for the software.

i also recommand you to use firefox with Google toolbar. firefox can disable all virus to run, because the virus can only run on IE.

besides, firefox can block any any poppus and disable any virus and adware, spyware on webpage, so, firefox is much safer than IE. as you know, most of the virus is spread throught internet and webpage.

firefox is much smaller than IE, so i run faster than IE.

download firefox for free:

Since your computer have been hijacked you need to backup first your important documents. Reformat your hard drive and reinstall all the software that you need. Then install an antivirus to your computer.

that's no longer rebooting. you're reformatting. sure that eliminates them, yet that gets fairly stressful. merely get Microsoft risk-free practices necessities or Avast! domicile version. they're going to take care of you from maximum viruses, yet no application on earth will end each and every little thing.
