Security - July 2006

i was the only computer admistrator.but somehow my teenager changed my password and set my account to limited user.i went to safe mode and changed it all back but if shes done it once she'll do it again.besides guessing my password is there another way of changing it? damn teenagers ...gggrrrrr!!!

A friend was just telling me that she had a computer problem, she had over 50 viruses! Some things she was saying make me think I could have a similar problem. I can use the internet ok but overall I know nothing about computers. Can I scan my system for viruses myself? If any are found, can I remove them myself? I know this is probably a silly question but if anyone can help at all, or give me a link that might help, I'd be very grateful. Thank you.

I have a laptop connected to my office network for internet access. Internet connection has been installed on only one PC and the whole office network is using it. From how many places a person can find that which site i have visited? I mean my computer, office server on which internet connection has been installed, an ISP server etc. After all how many places stores the log.

I have Norton anti virus and it keeps telling me that my system32\flbext.dll file is infected. I tried turning of system restore, rebooting in safe mode and everything but i cannot remove the file. [;ease je;[

and when i put the mouse over it it says " protecting mail" is this normal or is it a virus or trojan? I have mcfee and I did a scan and even a scan on dos mode and the report said that there were 0 infected files but i'm worried about the dna like icon can some one plis help me?

I JUST TRIED DOWNLOADING 2 PROGRAMS OFF OF LIMEWIRE.COM. THEY DIDN'T COMPLETELY DOWNLOAD, SO I CANCELLED THE PROCESSES. NOW I CAN'T DO ANYTHING AT ALL AS THE ADMINISTRATOR OF MY OWN COMPUTER. There is only one user on the computer and it is password protected. There is no other guest account and I have tried the ALT+ CTRL+DEL and trying to enter there, but it won't let me. Then, I my sister did it (I think...)

So is there any way to enter Windows without knowing the password? Thanks so much in advance!

i tried to delete the viruses by usining anti-spy and zone labs security and when it removes it or treats it it just keep coming back and it won't stop giving me pop-ups when im not going online and when i start my laptop it says canot delete key number something and my laptop is slowing down its anoying me right now with its pop-ups while i am typing so can u please help me whith these viruses and trojans and other stuff so please help me out here.
