Most often the admin can get your IP address and a general idea of where you are. This is mostly for privately run boards.
Moderators, it's iffy, it depends on if the admin allows it or not.
Why? The IP address is tracked to see if multiple user-names are in fact one person to stop trolling on message boards. If someone is abusing this information, I wouldn't go to that board anymore.

Yes, its really to easy. They colect the IP's and many other websites can detect your location from the ip

You can block your IP address from being available but some sites block you if your IP address is not obtainable.
