I have received six intrusion alerts where someone has tried to get into my system today. I've never received a single one before. So far everyone of them has been blocked, as far as I know. I traced the last one to an Internet cafe in China. How come I am getting so many? Does it have anything to do with me being on Yahoo! more now that I am doing this answers thing? Do I need to be worried

I mean none at all, seriously? Spyware/adware nothing? Surely there's a couple lurking O_o I mean, of all the junk i've got installed on my computer just to stop 'em, i really want a mac now!! Hehe! ^^

I wanted to try a new to me kind of anti-virus. some said that avg was not only good, but also free. After I downloaded it, a box came up to run-install it, but also said it didn't have a verified publisher-unknown, and could cause my computer harm. My husband advised me not to use it. Is he right?

I searched [Google, hotbot, webcrawl] the net for I-WORM/VB.GG. Guess what? The Grisoft site is the ONLY one with an answer. Symantec and McAfee dont even know about this virus / spyware. How come? The remove method was also crazy - download a bunch of free software -antispyware, botware etc. Does'nt this sound fishy? AVG says its forum is for Registered Users only, not for free users. No issues. I want to know how come no other antivirus company has posted / detected this virus.

There was a post on a freecycle forum and it sounded like a scam. I tried to do a search and the only results were the very same post to all different forums on a number of sites. The posting itself sounds fishy but I don't want to e-mail the moderators about it until I know for sure. Thanks for any help or info you can give.

A ban in some forums is upheld even when the perpetrator uses software like Hide I.P / or uses an anonymous proxy. How on earth do they do this when the IP is completely different ????
