Try the police
All financial institutions you do business with,
and the 3 credit reporting agencies. (Any bank can give you their contact info)

You can actually lodge a police report to protect the interest of yourself and your family just incase your info will be abused. On the other hand you can take a suit through your lawyer to protect the same or to charge for theft.

go to ftc.gov and follow the links for "consumers". Place a "fraud alert" on your credit so the stolen info can't be used to open credit in your or family's names (free to do). File a Police report

Contact your bank and Social Security to let them know. Also contact the three credit reporting agencies and ask them to put a "watch" on her number for suspicious activities.

call the credit companys' the ones that do all the reporting......tell them you want to put a "freeze" on your credit....costs about 10.00 per company (equifax, ect ect) that way people can't use that info to open accounts...

then when you need your credit..as in buying a house or what ever. it will cost another 10 to "unfreeze" it may seem like alot of money but better than having your credit ruined
