Usb is universal serial bus.It is a port found in most cops (probably even yours).It does not have any pins.(for pictures try searching google pictures.Nowdays you get everything for USB ports.IT is kinda like something in which everything can plug in.
to feed songs you will have to install a software you must have gotten with your phone ,then plug the usb wire into the port and feed away.

A USB port is a device which is universal and allows high speed transfer between external devices and your computer. It has a narrow rectangular shape. You should easily be able to determine if your computer has one by examining the front and back of it and looking for such a device, but you could also discover this by going to the Control Panel and looking under System and going to the Hardware tab, then clicking "Device Manager". All categories of the hardware on your computer will be displayed. If there's a sub category called "Universal Serial Bus Controllers", then there's definitely one present on your computer.
If you don't have one, you're not completely out of luck. You can go to a PC store or office supply store such as Office Depot and buy an inexpensive card with USB ports which you can install on your motherboard (I did this with an old PC I purchased back in 1998). Chances are if your computer was purchased in 2001, it would have USB ports present.
I can't help too much with the cell phone question, but there's probably a mechanism which prevents transfer from being this simple (they wouldn't make any money otherwise). I don't give advice on anything illegal unless I disagree with the law; in this case I do, but unfortunately I don't know anything about cell phones other than the wireless transfer process.

A USB port is a socket on your computer that allows for expansion of hardware without having to open up the case. For example you can connect an External Hard Drive to your computer with it to increase your disk space.
USB port tends to be located either on the back or (on newer machines) the front of your Computer. On laptops it's usually on the sides, but I have seen verisions where it is on the back. To help you identify it, the first source shows an image of a usb port with a cord. Note that its location on your computer may vary with brand.
With a 2001 Machine you should have a couple of USB ports, though once agin, it is dependant on the brand of computer.
If you want to move information to your cell phone you should probably get the software from the company who Made the phone (not your service provider). Just plug one end into the phone and the other into the USB port.

Ok what's the acronym stand for (Universal Serial Bus?) anyway, its another method of connecting devices to your PC. It's faster than a parallell port, but not quite as fast a firewire IEEE 394? I'm bad at remembering the exact names.
You may or may not have a USB port on your PC, Its a flat connector with no pins. If you have it on your PC there will be two ports that look kind of like this [][] Right together.
You will need software to do any uploading. My advice, get a new PC.

USB ports are a place on your PC where you can plug in things like joysticks, mice, keyboards, printer and even mobile phones. These plud are about 1/2" wide and 1/16" thick. They are located on the back of your PC ans sometimes in the front. You need to have a cable from your USB port to your mobile, and software for the mobile to download music onto your phone.

Most PC's have them, or if they don't then you can by what is called a USB riser, this will plug into you main board and be fixed in a place near you graphics card.
If you caomputer does not have riser capabilities then you can spend a little money and buy a PCI USB riser, which will fit almost all PC's

A usb port is just a portal into your computer. Through it you can access most parts of your hard-drive. It's really usefull, look out for a usb pen; they hold about anywhere from 150MB- 1GB info, and they would easily let you move mp3 music into and out of your computer.

yes, most likely your computer has usb ports, you can upload mp3s & ringtones but you have to have the right software. PLZ post the type of phone you have & i will get you the right software...

universal serial bus used for data transfer or connection purposes. your pc might have one look around if not you can buy plug-ins. yup you can use the usb port to connect to your cell just as long as you have a cable for it or you can use bluetooth if cell and pc has one or infrared
