how to lock and unlock items on mac? and how to delete a locked item? I have this item on the desk top, everytime I try to delete it it says cannot delte because item is locked (and it has the lock item sign next to it?) HELP!!

If I click on it in the user account screen nothing happens. I tried accessing it through the safe mode as well but nothing...I am the administrator. Only the administrator icon shows up on the sign on screen. Any suggestions that I have not tried.

I recently got a new dell laptop after I fried my HP. Before doing so, I got an external drive and put all of my files on there. I downloaded iTunes on my dell and bought songs and stuff, but i still have songs on my external drive. Its saying i cant access them because my current iTunes version is different. Is there any way i can get around this? If so, how?

ok so just to brag i bought the limited edition one #89 out of 25,000 sweet but the only thing i dislike is that everytime i want to make a change it keeps asking if its really me and if im i sure OF COURSE IM SURE WHY ELSE WOULD I WANT TO MAKE THE CHANge other than that its pretty sweet and also since i upgraded my computer i was thinking of getting another harddrive mine is ancient only 40g getting a 500g later can i still upgrade to vista (of course first installing xp) or is this key basically screwed onto this HD
an how do i turm the annoting signs off

ok i have msn messenger on my notebook, and i want it to keep me signed in after i log off windows. Is there a way i can do that? Because everytime i log back onto windows, it signs me off!

co-worker of mine. he is using windows XP, he is using the system admin account to login. he can move his mouse every where on the screen, and click on things, he can click on a file and see the box of properities of that file, but after he left double click on file or icons, nothing opens. I tried to use Crl+alt+del, the task screen won't come out. It will work only we restart his computer again. But it happens again after you left the computer on alone for a while. He has lot of free space. More than 80 % free. and I scaned for spyware using ad aware personal. and no spy ware found. what happened?? any suggestions?

Right now my address bar and all the tabs to go back forward and what ever are up off the screen if I roll the cursor up at the top it will pop up but it's not my computer and I am going to get killed for screwing up the compter when she finds out!!!! HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hey, I'm a nerd in training so tell me what I'm doing wrong. I have a Linksys [wireless] router and a pretty decent DSL internet connection. When I go to my network setup page and forward the ports to correspond with my bittorrent program [6881 to 6889], the highest average that I've been able to maintain is 40 kb/s, which is decent, but definitely not as high as it should be. So what am I doing wrong, and why do my ports seem unopened/unforwarded? Thanks in advance. =)

There was a Folder in my PC that suddenly disappeared,I searched allover for it even in hidden folders and system files and I couldn't find it,I wanted to make sure that I didn't delete it,and I found out that the disk space didn't change.
P.S:my brother fixed a hard disk using our PC which had what he called a bad sector I think or something that sounds like that and I think that it has something to do with the disappearance of the folder,does any one have an explanation or can help me to get this folder back??

I'm not 100% sure what fragments are, of if it means the the files are no good.

What should I do for the best. The files seem to be common files application files.

In my school we have about 30 Pc's In one room.
There running Windows Xp Professional I think, And we're using Dell's.
At first no pc has sound, now recently some of them have it (although it is crap quality and very quite) and there are no speakers connected and i presume there are no sound cards, if it is the case, how do you run the sound though your pc speaker instead of getting a sound card?

I've downloaded a number of tracks from the itunes website and wondered, apart from buying an expensive ipod, what is the best way to protect my songs?

Can I put them on an ordinary mp3 player?
Can I save them to disk?
Am I able to copy & paste to a laptop?

You know the fingers need to be on asdf and jkl;

But is it okay if I am not like that? For some reason I'm not able to let my fingers stay on those keys. I'm left handed by the way, so my left hand usually do all the work.
