I am trying to reformat my computer but It doesnt have a restart in dos mode. :S HELP this lil nOOb.

I was told by someone on here to uninstall it, but does that mean that I won't have ANY way to connect to the internet or will the old version come back?

Also, am I the only one who doesn't like EI7?

And why did Yahoo take for granted that I WANTED them to take over my computer? They have made them the default for EVERYTHING and I can not find a way to change it.

I hate IE7.

I have 2 computers and my old one has my client labels set up in it. Can I copy this file to a disk and then copy the disk into my newer computer without having to re-type all my labels? Is there another solution or do I just have to stop being lazy and re-do them all?

I have a wonderful collection of vinyl records containing some glorious music, but like most people nowadays I no longer have anything to play them on. Many of these are no longer available to buy on CDs. I could borrow a vinyl player and I have heard that it is possible to burn them onto CDs using a piece of computer software. It would have to be quite simple to do as I am not too clever when it comes to computers! Has anyone done this and what piece of software did they use and where can it be bought? I would be most grateful for any help.

My friend gave me a DVD with video on it. It worked on my DVD player, but when I reauthored it with Nero 6, it didn't work in my DVD Player or Playstation 2, but it played fine on my computer. The original DVD's speed was 8x, but my DVD's speed was 4x. Does the speed have anything to do with it, or is it something else?

Hi, does anyone know if it is possible and if so how to effectively download the data (as in recorded programmes) from a sky plus box to a computer hard drive? I have noticed they have an RS-232 port that should go into a serial port on my laptop and wondered if this would do it and how to make the laptop recognise the sky plus hard drive... thanks

my original cd rom is not working. but i don't know how to reformat using external cd rom because the computer can only detect the external cd rom in window. any idea?

there's four options in boot device: network, cdrom(original), hard disk, and removable device(floppy disk). the floppy disk cant be remove from my computer because it's build in. what to do now?

the main reason i want to reformat is because when i watch video, it's always lagging (but not the sound). i already move everything thing (back up file) to external hard drive, so the hard disk has nothing inside beside basic things. i done the disk difragmenter, but nothing has change. (about 6 months ago, when i watch video, it wont lag). now when i open a video file, either the window media player or explorer.exe is running very high (up to 100% capacity which can be view from task manager). they run so high (window media player) but still lagging.

btw, my com is compaq and using window XP.

i got problem with wallpapers. I got a jpeg file. I want to set it as my wallpaper. I rightclicked on properties->desktop.Then i clicked browse and selected the file. But i does not appear on the wallpaper list. and apply button is inactive.

I changed it's format to bmp using paints. Then i tried. It works. But i lost the clarity of the picture. Why jpeg file cannot be set as background in my system. But usually in Xp there are many jpeg files as background.

Whats the problem with my system and how can I resolve it.
