Am I not supposed to have 4.7GB of free space? maybe I can sue since I am holding evidence.

the actual memory and effective memory are two different numbers. I can't explain to you why that is but it is the same with any kind of memory. For example my iPod is a 30gig but i can only use 27.4gig. No I dont think you can sue because that is just the way memory works, the CD does have the capacity but cannot use all of it.

With any storage device, you will always have less actual storage than the specified amount. The main reason for this is that the file system (which stores index-type information about the data you put on the device) is stored on the storage device. As an analogy, think of a filing cabinet where the dividers and shelves take up space. Not my best explanation .... :)

The disk has been formatted I think that takes up some space,but if you're not sure just use Sonic record to erase the disk...then see if that makes a difference

Try updating your Driver for your optical drive, or using a different program. What does Windows say for free space? Try flashing your BIOS..

to companys that make discs and harddrive i gb = 1000 mb, but to a computer 1gb =1024mb cause comps work in exponets of 2, 2,4,8,16,32.........
