HELPPPPP MEEEEEEE!!!
i recentlly rebooted my computer completly ... and now it says i have no sound device installed??? what thaa? i dont have a cd to install it from what do i do!!??

My trash can will not work at ALL. Everytime I put something in the trash can and try to empty it, I get this error message:

"Sorry, the operation could not be completed because an unexpected error occured (Error code - 8062)"

I've rebooted my computer numerous times, I've done Disk Utility and try to find as much updates for my computer as possible and it's still giving me problems.

TrashIt doesn't work for me either.

So basically it seems like this whole computer is going to crap when it's not even a year old yet.


Has anyone else expeirenced this or know what the hell is going on?

I want to completely format my computer which has been very slow for a while but I do have some very important documents that I don't want to loose.

So I'd like to know if there is any site I can keep them (Music, etc...) until the new life of my computer.

In the '50's, I spent all my time having to learn to spell correctly, and being grammatically correct - at least to the extent that you can teach a child of 7-10.
But when I see the adverts from multinational companies with basic spelling mistakes, I am horrified. I can cope with the apostrophies being in the wrong place - most people can never get their heads fully round this.
But when BT put out an advert with 'there' instead of 'their' - something I learned at 8 years of age - it makes me wonder what the world is coming to.

To me, something like that is just sloppy and shows they employ people who are just not worried what they churn out.

If the info comes across, today's people are not too worried about spelin. But at the end of the day, does it really matter?
I have listened to arguments that we should preserve the English language. But then again, that is composed of Latin, Greek, French, German, ad nauseum.
What do u rekon?

My PC config is as follows
Intel 915 GAV motherboard,P4 @ 3.0 Ghz,512 MB RAM.
NFS Carbon gets installed perfectly,but whenever I try to run it , it crashes reporting error. But the same game runs perfectly on dual core processors. What might be the problem?

i am having trouble opening a file that is an image/x-jg. there are no programs that i know of that i can open it with. is there any quick way to open it. it won;t let me change the format either, for example, change to text or btmp..etc. please help.

Once I have found their IP address, how do I find the country of origin and any personal details? I think you know where I'm going with this. Having received a typical scam email purporting to reward me with a percentage ofa multi million dollar fund if I supply this party with my personal ID and 5K for "admininistration" costs etc, etc, I really would like to know where this email originates from. I have already replied with a great big F*** Off, but my curiosity has been piqued and I'd like to know more.

Is there a way to clear off CD's so that I can re-use them. When I put them in to "Copy" something on top of what I have on it....my computer prompts me to insert a blank CD. How can I clean off my CD's to make them blank? THANKS!

I was just fixing some settings with my wireless router and noticed that I had forgotten to program the wireless encryption. It’s been about a week with no encryption and I just noticed someone’s IP that was not mine was access the web with my connection. So, I decided to see if I could access their computer; and I can. The person that was using my internet connection has put their entire “C Drive” In their shared folder and I can view everything. I’m thinking about giving them a little scare, like printing something with their printer in the middle of the night, or restart their computer when they are using it, the possibilities are endless. So, should I give them a little scare or not?

P.S. I’m not one to cause any kind of permanent damage to someone’s PC. I just want to teach them a little lesson.

I purchased a new Dell a week ago, got it 2 days ago, set it up and went through the usual start-up/set-up stuff, it went into the automatic updates for windows, restarted and wham, already screwed up. I got it to start up in safe mode and everything seemed fine so restarted in normal mode, no go, operating system missing. It has the new Vista, unfortunately. Called Dell and went through all the stupid automated responses, i really hate those, finally got a technician, who had me do some tests on the hard drive, which was a slow process so he said he would call back. Ended up 2 hrs later me calling them back, same ordeal, this tech didn't have a clue, pcrestore doesnt work, so just reinstalled the vista program, left it at that til the next day, called back, going nuts, different tech, same stupidity, no pcrestore, no antivirus program i paid for, gave me a number to call for that, told me I wouldn't have pcrestore anymore, gees, thanks alot. $1500 for this?!?! Any thoughts?

Ok i have two users. Actually only one but the olther one is all users but im not sure that matters. I want to know if i can make it so that it atomatically logs onto my account when i turn the computer on. I dont want to have to wait for the screen to choose which account and then choose mine and then wait. Is there any way i can bypass this screen and have it attomatically log into my account since i am the only person who uses the computer. I hope someone can help.

15 years ago Fiber Optics were suppused to be a coming thing, lots of cable was laid, but it was never really used. I believe I heard a few years back that some company had bought up most of the fiber optics that had been laid, do you know who that is? Secondly, why don't fiber optics get used?
