In my school we have about 30 Pc's In one room.
There running Windows Xp Professional I think, And we're using Dell's.
At first no pc has sound, now recently some of them have it (although it is crap quality and very quite) and there are no speakers connected and i presume there are no sound cards, if it is the case, how do you run the sound though your pc speaker instead of getting a sound card?

Every PC has a speaker by default, so if you are not using a SC you need to emmulate the SC by writing a program, I dit it some 6 years back and it worked fine.

But in your case I suppose you can only ask them for more Sound Cards :)

you need a sound card to have sound, speakers are just sent beeps. You need a sound card, my guess is the school didn't install the drivers intentionally. Look in the Control Panel -> System -> Hardware -> Device administration

Cheers

Some motherboards have built-in sound "cards." I disabled mine and installed a sound card.
