I recently got a new dell laptop after I fried my HP. Before doing so, I got an external drive and put all of my files on there. I downloaded iTunes on my dell and bought songs and stuff, but i still have songs on my external drive. Its saying i cant access them because my current iTunes version is different. Is there any way i can get around this? If so, how?

In order to remove the newver version of iTunes, go to
Control Panel /Add or Remove Programs and the select iTunes remove the softfware.

After uninstalling the software, go to oldapps.com and get the older version of iTunes. Download it and install it.

Windows: http://www.oldapps.com/itunes.htm
Mac: http://www.oldapps.com/download_iTunes_mac.php

You need to go to the My Music folder on the removeable drive. Inside there is an itunes folder. The songs are there.
Copy the folder to your desktop.

then install 6.05, & they should play fine.

search the internet for a site called oldversions or something like that. If you find it down load the older version like that is on your external, goto control panel under ad/remove programs and delete the new version then install the old version. A gooder version is better than a total loss. And if you were happy with it, then an uprgade is not neccessary...
