as a user of bt products for over 5 years and the homehub for the last 12 months i can tell you there is no way you can turn the lights on the home hub
these are a intergral part of the hub and if removed would make the hub unusable
i can fully understand why you dislike these lights, they are the biggeset router l.e.d ,s i have seen,at least the previous bt voyagers were tiny little lights and only 2 would flash ,with the hub its like blackpool illuminations!
good luck

Assuming that you actually want to use the HomeHub, and merely unplugging it just isn't a workable answer, no, you can't just turn them off. Taking the device apart and cutting the wires to the little lights is time consuming, and complicated for the non-technical owner.

However, duct tape comes in many exciting colors, even black and silver...the Scotch Tape Outlet Store might even have it in plaid.

Cut a strip of your favorite hue large enough to cover the lights, and apply. Fingernail polish, carefully dabbed on, should also do the trick.

Voila! No more irritating lights.
