How do I uninstall and reinstall my CD e: drive?

It is not working. I have Windows XP (if it matters).

Go to Device manager and look at your CD drive there and see if it shows a yellow trouble tag. You can uninstall the CD from there, but may need your system disk to reinstall it.

Physically Removing the CD Drive or uninstall it from the computer's Hard Drive? Me Personally being you have windows XP if you phyiscally remove the cd drive and put it back in, XP will automatically recognize it and install the necessary drivers for it...
