Can anyone help me? I just ref0ormat my computer with Window XP, and i try 2 play music on Window Media Player and This erroe messgane pops up "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There may not be a sound device installed on your computer, it may be in use by another program, or it may not be functioning properly."

My husband seems to think that it's better to keep his computer on 100% of the time because "if you turn it off when finished you cause more damage to the device." Also, he thinks that it takes more energy/electricity to start the computer, than to keep it running all day??? Anyone know the answer to this little dilema?

Ever since I got ATI RADEON put into my computer, it crashes a couple minutes after I start up a game with advanced 3D graphics. I tried to play The Sims 2 and Rollercoaster Tycoon 3 and both games crashed in the middle of play, but when I play The Sims Deluxe Edition, it works just fine. Does anybody know what the cause could be?

I have a Dell, with a wirereless mouse. Yesterday it started anytime the curser is on a web page , the page jumps up and down If I move the curser off it stoped. I and going nuts trying to read or look at anything.

I have an 802.11b Dell PCMCIA card in an EMachine PC. I want to change the machine to Linux but don't want to spend endless hours fiddling with drivers. Is there one variant of Linux (Ubutu? Gentoo? Fedora?) that will have the highest probability of being able to recognize and use the installed wireless card? Thanks.

ARG. I am so mad at myself. I accidentally deleted a folder with 2 years worth of photos of my friends in it.

I have an imac g5 and i'm not sure exactly when i deleted the folder, I just noticed doing it now....and i emptied my computers trash a few days ago.

Is there ANY program I can run to get it back? Anything?! I have no back up file and I'll be devestated if I can't get these back. What can I do?

What tricks does microsoft use to spy on our downloads? How about my ISP, comcast? Hypothetically speeking, if I download songs off limewire, whats going to get me caught? If one is downloading music, should they use someone elses wireless connection? If one processes the media info, to get the song titles right, will that tip off microsoft to potential piracy? Whats the penalty for having stolen music?

are there any computer genious's out there? HELP!!! and I mean please help. my computer keeps freezing and when I am online my aol is always freezing and when I open task menu it just says not respnding and after a while it will say running but it does this over and over and it is not worth even getting online because it is such a hassle can anyone out there suggest anything to help.... I have cleaned my disk space, ran a virus program and a spyware program to see if that would help and it still keeps freezing. So maybe someone can recommend a website or can tell me something else I could do to fix this problem and also my PC is really slow what can I do to speed it up? it is a precerio with celeron prossecor and it is running really slow.... PLEASE help me out.
