The HP printer should have a built in program that tells you this. It will usually be displayed when you want to print and go to File>Print. In this set up window you should get access to ink levels.

If you don't have this availabe the go to HP's website and see if there is a program available in the Support and Drivers area. I just checked and they have two updates for your printer.

Try going to your "Control Panel" and clicking on the "Printers" button. From there you should be able to view your printer properties. Or try printing a test page.
