library I am playing it back thru my hi fi amp and speakers I have my sound card set correctly the amp is a home theatre amp but I know for sure the amp is fine cos it only happens when using my the media player it seems to be a bit of a mystery when I play a cd in the cd/dvd drive it is fine

I need help. the problem is that by start bar and desktop icons wont appear on my desktop. all i see is my background. i tried to restart the computer many times but it doesnt help. the story is that my c drive got full and i selected everything in the c drive and clicked on move to folder and selected d drive. i mpved there but now this happened. if i press the windows logo on my keyboard it wont show up. HELP. i have important files on there that i cant delete!.

I own the CDs - I just want the music in mp3 format for the iPod. But Windows Media Player gives the albums nearly useless directory names: Unknown Album (6-20-2006 7-49-05 PM).
and equally cryptic song named: 01 Track 1.mp3. Is there a way to make WMP any smarter about this? Or should I just find a better ripper?

Windows croaked on my dual boot machine. Linux boots and runs just fine.

The windows XP disk can't see the drive. I'm guessing that the bootloader confuses Windows.

Bootloader is Grub.

How to remove it / make drive accessible?

Using Windows XP on NTFS, I formatted my drive yesterday and there was one folder I forgot to backup.

Are there programs out there I can use to retrieve it? Hopefully a FREE program?

About a month ago, the hardrive on my computer broke down. Someone came a few days later and fixed it, and since then everything's been fine. (We're going to get a new harddrive soon though.)
But the only thing that's not working are the speakers. I can hear static on it, or you might call it a dead noise. Anyway I can tell it's on, because the green light is on. Both speakers are also plugged in. But I'm not getting any sound, and I've tried everything I can think of. Suggestions?

I am trying to send a text message to a cingular customer with the area code of 931. Cingular says that you can do this but when I try it yahoo tells me that the number is not currently served by our mobile messaging partners. Can anyone tell me what area codes can receive messages.

Have messenger 8 and when i follow the directions to display Avatar when i get to click Ok it puts me back to the page where i created Avatar.. Is this supoose to happen and is there something i need to do one that page to apply my Avatar to my Messenger?

I bought a wireless mouse/keyboard combo. Micro innovations. KB985W. i cant get it to work at all. I have installed the driver, uninstalled, reinstalled. Used the button on the reciever and on the mouse and keyboard. I have tried about everything I can think of. It is really annoying. Can anyone help me. I have an hp a1129n desktop pc with media center. Should have worked with just plugging it in. Thanks

Recently I did some work on my floppy drive, now everytime I restart the system the floppy drive seems to be accessed and all throught the drive is trying to be accessed, what is this? How do I stop it!
