click on FILE then scroll down until you see SIGN OFF then click it- it will say are you sure you want to end your session- or something to that effect- and then click yes. This should work- if it doesn't, restarting your computer always signs off of messenger. Hope this helps!

Click on the messenger on top left corner then go to sign out.

you have to say which instant messenger you are using. they are ll different.
