library I am playing it back thru my hi fi amp and speakers I have my sound card set correctly the amp is a home theatre amp but I know for sure the amp is fine cos it only happens when using my the media player it seems to be a bit of a mystery when I play a cd in the cd/dvd drive it is fine

Media Player always has had crap memory management. I would suggest something that's specifically made to play MP3's, such as Winamp.

Sometimes the music has a code in it that scrambles it if it is shared out to too many people, i know Bullet for my Valentine tracks are like this

your amp is good but your sound card is crap. The sound card is creating the distorted wave form and your amp is amplifying it. garbage in... garbage out. Get a better sound card.

Try to defragment the HD. Sometimes this helps.

possibly wmp is corrupted or ur windows is unstable. check out all wires are plugged correctly.

try winamp and use bypass mode on your home theater system music is much better if you don't try to 3d screw it.
