some chat programs use direct connect when sending files, i think msn 7.0 has started using it, and aim uses it. send them a file, and while its sending type netstat into your cmd line, and the ip that isnt yours is the persons your looking for

if you dont know what camd line is,

go to start > run > type "cmd" > then type "netstat"
(dont put in the quotes)

if you want to find your own ip first go to http://www.myipaddress.com/
its the easiest way to find yours, if your not comp savy

(vote me #1) :)

To trace an IP address –

Click Start, Run and type in – command (cmd if you are using Windows 2000) and press .

Now type – nslookup followed by a space and then the IP address. Press and in a few seconds you will get the name of the used for the lookup followed by the IP address and the domain name you are looking for.

If you are using a router you may get a “default server is not available” message but you will still get the information
