My boot drive C: is making tons of noise, and is ready to go. How can I move everything, including Win XP SP2, to a new drive and then make it the new boot drive?
I don't want to move into Vista yet.
I have EMC retrospect software. Will that work?
I have an available second drive bay available.
Any hardware/software suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Changed the default program to paint shop because I wanted to make pictures sizes smaller so I can email pictures, however when I did they changed in image quality now I can't find the original program that opened them, would it be easier to just restore the entire computer to before I changed the program.

I hava Sony Ericsson w810i and I connect it to my laptop via the provided USB cable into a USB port at the back of the laptop.

Sometimes, but not very often, this works and I can transfer music etc. But more often than not, lately I have been given the error message "USB Device not recognised" and it tells me that the device must have malfunctioned.

Seriously it's really annoying me and I don't know what the problem is. Any ideas/solutions.

And please, don't tell me to "reboot and try again" or "try a different port" cus I've done this plenty of times. And advising me to buy a new USB Cable is useless because I already had 2 (1 from my earlier phone) and am now using my brother's. :/

Cheers

Hi, I was customizing the computer I am going to buy and I came across the decision between these two prosessors:

Intel Core 2 Duo E6700 Conroe 2.66GHz 4M shared L2 Cache LGA 775 Processor
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819115002)

and

AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket AM2 Processor
(http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103773)

My interests are gaming, video editing, and movie making. (but mostly high quality gaming)

Which is the right prosessor for me? (disregard the prices)

I notice in many video media playing programs I can change it so either the CPU does all the work or I can make the GPU do the work if I turn on Hardware Acceleration.

I almost never play games and watch videos at the same time so I think if I use Hardware Acceleration it may take a tad bit of stress off the CPU and put it the GPU.

I have a AMD 4800+ Dual core CPU and an EAX1950pro video card.

What do you think I should do? And what is normally better.

hi, Trying to bye a new Workstation for 3d Rendering, Want something with power and performance, and was looking into a PC with 8GB of RAM. Recently, a friend told me that Windows Vista will only use 4gb of maximum Ram and that it would be a waste to have the extra 4gb of ram. Is that true ??

You know, like:
*The kind w/ a wire.
*The kind that uses a laser not a wire.
(I'm sure there are more types but those are the only ones that I know about. Your answer does not have to be one of these it can be some other kind of mouse for a regular computer not a laptop, oh, not a flat screen either).

What are the pro's (good things about it) & con's (bad things) about that mouse?

When my computer is powered on or if it is rebooted, when it gets to the system check (black screen) It halts and tells me that the chassis has been opened before last reboot. It tells me to hit any key to continue or hit F1 to enter setup. I hit any key and it boots up as normal, if I hit F1 it ask me to enter the password.

1. How can I stop the error from stopping the computer from booting? If I am not in the room the computer will sit at the plack screen until a key is pressed.

2. Pressing F1 - I entered my password (Administator password) and it locks up until I reboot. Then the cycle repeats. Can I chand the password. Why is the pass word not the admin's pass word. Please help.

These are just small, but they are annoying.

Thanks
