hi, Trying to bye a new Workstation for 3d Rendering, Want something with power and performance, and was looking into a PC with 8GB of RAM. Recently, a friend told me that Windows Vista will only use 4gb of maximum Ram and that it would be a waste to have the extra 4gb of ram. Is that true ??

WTH are you making plans on working! 8gb! I have been given vista sixty 4 and 4gb ram and that i in no way use all of it. all sixty 4 bit apps and homestead windows can use a max of two^sixty 4 bits so definite something as much as 128 gb is customary

maybe vista wont use but some programs (heavy) will use
but use windows xp, it is still better then vista, uses less memory and have less security which isn't so important (if you need so much then use Zone Alarm - best way to secure your computer)
