i still have my usb connections. on the device manager, the usb contollers show no problems whatsoever. but whenever i plug a digital camera or my ipod, the whole pc freezes. but there's one printer connected to a usb port behind the pc that still works. what is it that i should do that could fix this?

I had a problem with my computer and I think it is the hard drive.

I opened my hard drive and with a wet cloth I cleaned the disks surface and I used a q-tip to reach and clean in between the disks because for some reason my hard drive has 4 disks in it.


and then I ran it. the head goes to the centre of the disk then just comes back. should the tip of the head actually touch the disk? the head has 2 sides which read the top and bottom. when i was fiddling around with it i accidentally took off a small black square thing on the tip of the head. but there is still another one on the other head. is this a common problem and what can i do to sort it out. it wont read the disk?

I want to make dvds of old home movies that were put on vhs years ago. Also why won't my system let me rip dvds that are not copyright protected to my xp media system so that I can make copies of those. Do I need more hardware to rip dvds?

speakers are fine tested them on other computor and on tv different speakers dont work either settings all seem to be fine...and no it is not muted!!!

I have two hard drives. I have a lot of games on my C drive, so I install most everything else onto D. Lately, when I've tried to install something into D: Program Files, it says it can't create a directory and that I don't have access, an Error 05 code or something. Why is it doing this?

I just installed a wrong bios on my pc! but its working... atleast... I have a backup of my bios in win flash but when I try to flash it back i recieve this error message "flash block erase failure!" and the worst part is my pc can't detect my floppy drive due to the wrong bios...

FYI: Clean Install is when I bring computer back to manufacturer specs due to either errors I make in DL'g something and want a clean registry; or an error in the programs that Microsoft recommends a clean install; i.e., a corruption in a program or something like that! Whenever I do this, ALL Yahoo Group mails cease to arrive - even though I've checked edit membership, and everything is a-ok and all names are back in My Contacts for ID'ing as not being spam or other junk! PLEASE HELP ME!
