I have two hard drives. I have a lot of games on my C drive, so I install most everything else onto D. Lately, when I've tried to install something into D: Program Files, it says it can't create a directory and that I don't have access, an Error 05 code or something. Why is it doing this?

ok well first of all a little tip. DONT NOT FULL UP YOUR C DRIVE WITH GAMES.The c drive is where your os resides the more you full it up the slower your pc becomes. #2 if possible you can try to move the files that you want to the c drive temporaraly. reformat your d drive but put back your files and try again. it's a good idea to keep your c drive defragment and with enough space to run properly.

Do you regularly defrag your hard drives? Also, it matters how much free space you have. Your hard drives need to be able to move files around, and if you are operating at 80% or higher, you might need to uninstall unused programs, or put that which you don't need on storage disks, or better yet, get a bigger hard drive...how big is your drive?
