I have a new flash drive that works fine on my computer, but when i take it to another computer it doesn't show the flash drive or its contents.I try and try and try again but it still doesn't show.

lol usb 2.0 or 1.1 has nothing to do with it.

You failed to mention what operating system the pc is running that won't recognize the flash drive. WinXP will see flash drive without installing any special software.

Win98 you will need a driver to be able to use flash drives.

Your flash drive on each computer needs a device driver to make it operate. Type in the name of your flash drive, go to the manufactorer web site, find the model number. You can then DL the drivers to the flash drive, or the computer you are trying to use it with. Right click on MY COMPUTER, PROPERTIES, HARDWARE, DEVICE MANAGER, FIND YOUR FLASH DRIVE, CLICK ON DRIVERS, UPDATE DRIVER. If this does not work, contact the manufactor via the internet and DL the driver from them. If you had given the name and model number, I could have been more help, and given you the website.

Check to see if the other computer has USB 2.0 instead of 1.1. This is presuming that your Flash drive is USB 2.0, of course.
