My CPU case on the side doesnt have a fan, or even a "place" for the fan. I think I will cut it, but how will I do that, and how large the hole's gonna be. Please include links if available, or contact me at my YM. zikatrikz@yahoo.com

Ah, ya bunch a sissies, break out the tin snips my man, let's go to work!!

Well, buy the fan first. They are usually 80 mm (or 3.1 inches) in diameter. get one with the same kind of power connector as the ones on the back of things like cd-roms hard drives (molex i think) Then the fun begins...

take the side off, figure out how much wire you have and where you can put the fan. Make sure it's not gonna hit anything when you put it back on, for cooling, the closer you get it to the cpu and graphics card the better, but the last thing you want to do is to cut a hole in your case and then figure out that you need to cut another. draw the holes and the outline of the fan on the back of the panel and then you can either just bore a bunch of holes in the side where it's at or make 1 big hole and get some tin snips and cut a circle out and put a grill on it.

The quick and dirty way is to just drill a bunch of holes and zip tie it to them.

its simple ive done it many times ... you can cut metal by first drilling a 1/2" hole and then using tinsnips. get the fan u want to use and then figure out the circle diameter ... usually an old jar or lid in the fridge will have somthing close if not use a protractor and trace out a perfect circle ... then cut it out with the snips... you can use the plastic jacket off of a large guage wire as a trim on the cut metal wen ur done, just split the jacket off the wire with a knife .... if your casing is plexiglass where the fan will be then use a jigsaw and cover the bottom of the jigsaw with two layers off masking tape beforew you start so it doesnt scratch the plexiglass ... polish it up with some plastic polish from an autoparts store if it needs it....after you have your main hole cut then put the fan up to it and get it square then use somthing to mark out where the screws go, then drill the holes for the screws then your done. ... bolt it up and plug it in

What! No dude what the heck is a CPU case more like the main computer case the CPU is that little thing attached to the motherboard. Don't do any drilling at all a computer needs ventilation but not inhalation. More is not always better. Keep the circulation in the system case (NOT CPU) ..

do no longer upload greater followers to the motherboard than that's rated to settle for, or the motherboard header *will* fry. greater moderen motherboards have greater leads which could settle for bigger watt/amp followers, yet older fashions had only 2 -- one for the proc and one for the case fan. put in 2 5watt 120mm followers and the motherboard will substitute into DOA. A multi fan bus is what you're searching for, and it will visual reveal unit 4+ followers (yet maximum only actively visual reveal unit no greater advantageous than 4). until you nevertheless keep the proc fan linked to the motherboard, even which will perform rapidly from the multi fan bus (undesirable element approximately that setup is, you will would desire to disable the motherboard visual reveal unit and BIOS monitoring of it, or it will close down your computing device questioning the fan died). A fan bus is administered off of the +5v rail (4 pin Molex), and you connect each and all of the followers to the leads interior the fan bus tray (be sure you the two have motherboard lead followers [3 pins] or adapter kits for 4 pin Molex plugs, as to keep area maximum of those leads i've got seen are for 3 pins [have an Enermax one which i do no longer use anymore, and after sleeving it, there is no area left regardless of 3pins in a 5.25" tray]). be sure that in case you circulate that course that your +5v rail can face up to yet another piece of hardware to visual reveal unit those followers -- and attempt to apply a committed twine harness (do no longer share it with the DVDpersistent, working example), because it particularly is a number of (and until you have a energetic percentPSU) rippled contemporary which will bypass by using it.

Why put it on the side? Put it up close to the front, or against the front where the grills should be. then just use any power cable from the power supply.
