I'm running an iMac with Panther, OS 10.4... and purchased a Fantom Drive. I thought I could just "drag and drop" my Mac HD onto the Fantom Drive and everything would be copied over...BUT...instead it copies over the folders only. When I try to copy over data files, I get an error message. Is there some type of configuration I have to do to the Fantom Drive? I really need to free up some space on my iMac HD. Thanks in advance for the help. I'm desperate for an answer, so I'm posting this in another computer area also. Please help me!

I know that hard drive and CD/DVD drives go into the IDE slots, but there is a third slot and I think it is the third IDE port, but I'm not sure.

*I have Windows XP*
A couple of weeks ago my computer stopped starting up… When I hit the button to turn it on it starts up, it asks about running a check on the C: drive (though it makes no difference whether I run it or cancel it), goes to the blue screen that says Windows is starting up, then the screen is black like it is about to go to my desktop; the cursor appears and I am able to move it, then all of a sudden the computer restarts itself and it just keeps doing the same thing.
Once, I was able to get to the options screen (where it lets you pick safe mode and all that) and I went to last configuration or whatever and the computer started up fine. Unfortunately, since that ONE time it worked, if I try to do that now, it doesn’t work. I have attempted going in to Safe mode and it does not work either.
I know there is something really wrong with my comp, so I would like to get to my desktop to save files and such before I take it to be fixed and lose all my data. Please help

I have a nVidia GeForce 6600 256MB PCI Express 8x, and in all my games two parralell white lines appear on the left side of the screen. In between the lines there is a green column that grows and shrinks vertically with the amount of work that the video card performs. Help?

I need to know how to format a hard drive. My sister's computer messed up and I just bought a new Windows 98 Second Edition CD. I put the disk in and it told me that Windows is already updated, buy the upgrade. I wanna wipe out the C drive. How do I do that. Nothing on the computer works. If you have any questions, e-mail me at hmj_2003@yahoo.com or message me to hmj_2003. Thanks for looking and helping.

Some body changed the resolution of one the computer of my office. The PC configuration is : Pentium 4, On boared graphics card, Sestem: WinXP 2005 Professional, Philips 15'" Monitor. The Problem is: When I start the computer it starts it booting normally, check the C drive then, then shows a message: Out of frequency range, then nothing is shown on the monitor. I've reset the bios battery, tried to enter into setup pressing Del key but failed. Monitor displays nothing to do anything. It became dark, the led of the monitor became orange from fluroscent. I've replaced the monitor. The previous monitor performs well with another computer. I replaced the monitor 3 times. In all cases i got the same result. There is no way to enter into the setup, or settings. What should I do. Even I,ve tried to setup new Xp but faced the same problem. What should I do. Plz help me.

The fan in my laptop seems to be busted. There is this really loud noise coming on but no air is blowing on the side and every now and then, the computer will just shut down when it gets really hot (I believe that's the connection!). Could I possibly just change the fan myself?
