OK so i was on the computer and then all of a sudden my screen turned white with little black and blue lines. So i shut down the tower. Now the tower will turn on (makes a weird noise) but the monitor will turn on but the screen stays black. So my question is what is wrong with it?!?

The monitor went wrong under guarantee, and they offered a flat screen replacement as it would be quicker. About 4 months ago. Everytime I ring their expensive 0870 number, they just say they are waiting for supplies. If it wasn't for Ebay I wouldn't have a monitor, or the internet.

My mum just bought a new tft monitor for our pc but we can only get two settings for our display screen its either 800x600 or its 1024x768 on plug and play monitor. How can we get our display to go up to the 1280x800?

I just bought a viewsonic 19" widescreen monitor for work and the image is not optimized....The computer's resolution only goes up to 1280X1024...The monitor says it needs to go to 1440X900. All that I have in my computer is a Intel graphics controller 82810.

I have tried downloading and updating the driver but nothing happened...Can I make the image better somehow or should I just go get a 19" standard monitor?

If I use a vga to dvi adaptor to connect my laptop (vga output) to my monitor (dvi input) will the quality be good as connecting from dvi to to dvi or will it be the same as connecting from vga to vga?

I have an NVIDIA GeForce MX 440 graffics card and windows XP media center. There is only one plug on the back of the computer for the monitor.. so how do i go about hooking up a second monitor? I used to have my tv pluged into the rca out.. so I know it's capable of splitting the screen.. but dont' know how to physically hook up the second monitor.. and actually don't remember how to get to the area where I can split the screen in the settings. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks!

All of a sudden the display on my computer monitor is much larger than it was before.

The screen saver was on and when I moved the mouse to bring back the desktop the screen went black for a moment and then when it came back was displaying larger icons and all programs are taking up much more space on the screen.

I have checked all the display settings, I have restarted the computer, I have turned the monitor off and back on. I have shut down the whole system, let it sit for 5 minutes and then turned it all back on. No change.

Any ideas?

Why is it, that computer monitor (using RGB values) can recreate a near match to fluorescent red, yellow, green, blue, violet and pink but cannot recreate fluorescent orange. I have even looked on web sites that sell fluorescent markers and sites that sell black light posters and all the colors seems to look bright except the orange which always comes out darker or brown. I do black light photography and the orange never reproduces. I have equipment and software to calibrate my monitor and have seen the same results on many other monitors.
