On the other hand, LCD TV tops out at HDTV res, which doesn't even COME CLOSE to 1280x1024, that PC's are capable of, not to even mention 1600x1280...

You got it backwards there dude...
An LCD TV is more expensive than an LCD monitor - reason being that the monitor doesn't have a tuner built-in - which is okay if you have satellite or cable.
The bigger the screen, the more it's going to cost also.

ok so go with the lcd i have to agree it is stupid not to buy an lcd tv so dont get the monitor and go with frys electronics if there is one near you or try one of the following: best buy, target, walmart, or circut city. hope this helped
