Yes but with gaming what you want to look for is REFRESH RATE. It will say the refresh rates there. For example, to run Battlefield 2 you need a monitor with at least a 60hz refresh rate.
Almost all monitors have that so you'll be ok but if you want to feel assured, look for the refresh rate of the monitor.
The higher the refresh rates go the faster the monitor

it will be ok .. i personally dont like widescreens for a pc or gaming and that resolution isnt the best in the world ....
