My mum just bought a new tft monitor for our pc but we can only get two settings for our display screen its either 800x600 or its 1024x768 on plug and play monitor. How can we get our display to go up to the 1280x800?

it sounds like you need to install the driver and check to see if your video card supports that resolution also. you can check to see what your video card is by going pressing windows flag key and the pause break key, click on the hardware tab, device manager and check you video card there.

get that driver installed first, that might be the reason, when you are in the device manager if you see a yellow ?, than you know that it is the driver that needs to be installed. if not than you know that your video card does not support that resolution

You would have to insert the driver cd that came with the monitor. That will tell the computer that the monitor is a widescreen monitor and has the capability to run at that resolution.

Supporting 1280x800 resolution is a job of your video card, not obtainable from your monitor manufacturer.
Go to the website of your video card and see the solution.
(Probably they have)

Go back to comet and ask them for an installation disk. They probably forgot to put it in the box.
