I get this a lot. You probably freaked out your HD when you unplugged it.
Did you shutdown the OS properly (start -> shutdown)?
Or did you just unplug it?
Well, in either case. Try rebooting. Are you getting any beeps? Any error messages popping up on the screen?
You might have to redo your operating system, but that's no biggie. Just make sure you have the installation disk handy. But becareful, redoing your operating system will Erase Everything On Your HD.

On a more complicated note. This happened to a friend of mine not too long ago. What happened was that his HD was covnerted to RAW. How this happened I'm not sure. However, he was able to retrieve his stuff using a Disk recovery program. Maybe this might work for you. But it will take a while and some research.
Give it a try.
Good luck!

you shouldnt have lost all your data by just unplugging it from the mains
you may have a few errors on your operating system but nothing drastic
start by switching your p.c back on and tap the f8 key to enter safe mode, when you see the safe mode screen select "safe mode" and press enter
just before you reach the safe mode desktop you will get a option to use the windows system restore, select this and restore your p.c back to before you pulled the plug on the p.c
the p.c will then take a few minutes while it restores your settings and files and then it will restart and when it reaches the desktop you will be greeted by a system restore message, click ok and then your desktop proper will appear
worse case scenario you could of blown your p.s.u(power supply unit),if this is the case try using the psu from your older tower, but check that it has enough wattage to power your p.c,a few watts short shouldnt be a problem, but if yours was 300w and the old psu is 150w dont use it,buy a new one and you may as well get a 400 to 500w p.s.u to replace as this will allow for future components
final reason could be a hard drive crash,is your hard drive making a grinding or whirring noise,or is it clicking when its trying to access data,if so your hard drive is knackered
but dont worry, hard drives are very cheap to buy if you only need around 120gb,go to http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=220797&CatId=2270,and also go there if you need a new p.s.u http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=261107&CatId=0
give these a go and if you need any more help ..e-mail me
good luck

Depends on exactly what error message you're getting.
Do you get the c:> prompt if not then your hard disk is missing, check IDE/SATA and power cables internally have not dropped off.
If you get the C:> prompt then I can't imagine why but your Windows and all your software needs re-installing

Use your OS CD to boot from and do a re-install - assuming your hardware still works.
