I have an NVIDIA GeForce MX 440 graffics card and windows XP media center. There is only one plug on the back of the computer for the monitor.. so how do i go about hooking up a second monitor? I used to have my tv pluged into the rca out.. so I know it's capable of splitting the screen.. but dont' know how to physically hook up the second monitor.. and actually don't remember how to get to the area where I can split the screen in the settings. PLEASE HELP!! Thanks!

If you have one VGA out then you can connect only one monitor. You can have a split desktop, but the hardware will only drive one monitor and a TV.

To connect another monitor you need to either replace your graphics card with one that has two VGA outs or install a second graphics card (which would probably have to be a PCI one rather than an AGP one).

control panel > display > advanced is where windows will show you that you have two monitors. But since you don't it will only show one for now

to add a second monitor you can either add a PCI graphics card, or just buy a low-end agp card like a nvidia fxc5200 which supports two monitors, and replace your mx440 with it

When you right click on the desktop and go to settings it should allow you to enable the second monitor.

If it's not there you probably need to get a second video card.

Heita da boet!

You can use the default software that came with the graphic card... alternetively you can use the boring and dead technology from Microsoft... It is called "Windows Display Properties" and accessed by right-clicking on the desktop...

Good luck,,,(my 10points)

You say you only have 1 output. To attach two montiors you need to get a dual head GPU. You then go on to say you have 2 outputs. In this case you simply need the correct leads / convertors.

get a really inexpensive graphics card and install it, you may have to go with a PCI card as your agp slot will be full with your present card. you can hook a second monitor to that card
