No...all it takes is the correct cable & a TV out feature on your video card.
Most all HDTVs have Composite A/V inputs ... these use very inexpensive cables.

Honestly, sometimes it is, sometimes it isn't.
If the video card on your computer does not support the required resolution, then it is a pain.
If you have one of the newer video cards on the market that have support for a wide range of resolutions, it is not a pain.
The samsung tv you are talking about will probably have a DVI connection on the back, and if your computer has a DVI connection on it, then it is much easier. Plus, DVI is capable of sending out high quality signals that the older S-video and RCA connections cannot even compare to.
Really you have to look into the native resolution of your HDTV and see if the computer can be adjusted to that setting. Keep in mind that it will most likely not fit perfectly.
As with anything on computers, the unexpected can happen. That unexpected is usually a simple fix but can cause a headache if you don't do a little research first.

Not Usually a Pain. One of two possibilities, If the Samsung has the right Socket , the PC can connect directly in.
Also, the right TV card will allow a direct connection.
AND, some Junction Boxes will allow a TV to PC cxonnection or Vice Versa, just check what your HDTV has, and then search from there. You might have to Ask Samsung support for some pointers, and if you have a "Black Box" HDTV unit, it may go through there. It is do-able.

If your PC's video card has an RCA output jack, it is simply a matter of running a cable from the card to the input jack of the TV. You will also need to run a line from the audio output on the PC to the audio in for TV if you want sound.
Not any different then hooking up a VCR or a DVD player.
