Back in the early seventies and eighties when the first color televisions came out they acutally emitted alot of radio waves that if you sat close enough you could end up damaging the cornea of the eye ..something like a welding flash but in a long term, the first signs were headaches and dry eyes and blurry vision..the methode of reproducing the pictues in these old televisions where tubes..and these tubes caused massive radio waves close to the television and if you sat close to the television and you happen to be in a not so good mood these radiowaves could actually make you go temporarely insane..but todays televisions have filters on them and no more big transistors and tubes and all run on chip boards with processors and insulated sheilded small transistors so no worries anymore my friend..sit two inches away ..your eyes will go buggy but that's a personal prefrence at that point..lol
