i have recently bought a computer which has a DVI port, but my monitor which i have bought has only got a VGA cable end.
i know i am surpose to look for a VGA to DVI converter, but i on my computer it has somethin like the picture on the link:
http://www.networktechinc.com/nti/images/items/dvif-15hdm.jpg
on the DVI end, it has a cross and four dots around it.
i have looked online, and all of them i have seen does not have a cross and four dots, but only have a strike line going across, like this:

Just because a monitor is bigger than the dimensions of HD resolutions, does that mean that it can display video progressively?

hello friends,
I've recently bought a Viewsonic 19'' TFT monitor, Model-VA1912wb

Now I 've a Dual boot system, WinXP professional & Win98 SE. Its fine with Xp but 98 is giving problem. The accompanying disc has 98 drivers & I tried to install the driver from it, but Win98 somehow cannot install it....its running in safe mode.

When I'm trying to install the driver using device manager & giving the path for the driver file, Win98 displays that it cannot find the file when in reality the file is there.
Say the file name is VA1912.icc but win98 saying its searching for a file named VA1912.ic....lookz like its having problem with the file extension....

can u plzz suggest me something?

Thankz.

i have a dell inspiron m1505 laptop and a compaq fs7600 CRT moniter. I am trying to set up dual monitors and I cant seem to get it to work right. I plugged the compaq into my laptop, downloaded the drivers and set up the properties and options like I wanted it through windows properties, however the CRT moniter will not show anything on the screen. It has power and recognizes signal (little green light does come on) and I can move the mouse "over" to the other moniter, but the screen is blank. What am I doing wrong? Is there some special thing that I have to do to get it to work? It shouldnt be this hard. Im not going with a seperate projection screen, but and extended desktop scheme and I cannot for the life of me get it to work. Any ideas?

Yesterday I sent my LG CRT monitor (Came with MG MyPC Computer) to a service shop for changing damaged (cut by Rats) signal cable. During coming to home monitor suddenly fell down on road. now, the problem is that it is showing incorrect colors (colored spots) on screen. what may be problem? Is this damage due to fall-down OR did the repair-man messed up (changed something inside) with it? How much will it cost to repair this problem? Is picture-tube damaged OR something else. plz hlp.

I want to be able to use my TV as the computer monitor. It has a DVI input, as well as a PC Audio input. However, my computers' video card has VGA, S-Video, and composite video outputs. I want to be able to keep my monitor connected as well as the TV, instead of having to constantly change from one to the other. How can I do this?

I'm making meatloaf for the first time ever. I used eggs, crackers, and onions. I have a gas stove, and it doesn't have the temperature on the knob. So this should be fun. My question is do I need to add water to to the meatloaf before I cover and cook it?

The laptop has a 7 pin S-Video port so i bought a 7 pin S-Video converter and plugged it to the port.. But when I connected the video (RCA) jack to the TV and the other end to the converter and switched the TV to Video input there was no display!! sad.gif
